羊の種 / Wool Seed 2003
現在、盛岡地域にしか産業としてホームスパンは存在しない。地域から産出される羊毛により、生命と大地を考察する。
岩手県盛岡周辺地域では、明治時代から一世紀にわたり羊毛産業技術を発展させてきた。その技術はこの地域の人々の間に脈々と伝えられ、その結果、ここは、羊毛の生産やホームスパンを地場産業として成り立たせる地域となった。
The wool industry in the area around Morioka-shi, Iwate prefecture, was founded in the Meiji period and expanded in the one hundred years that followed.
The techniques have descended down the generations in this region, and developed into a local industry which produces wool and homespun fabric.
